What age is it for?
Owala rates it 3 and up. It is a scaled-down version of the adult bottle rather than a toddler cup — the spout needs a proper sip or a tilt, and the lid needs a thumb on the button. Most children manage it from about three; younger than that, the Kids' Tumbler with its straw is the easier one.
Will it leak in a school bag?
Not when it is properly shut. The flip cap seals against a gasket and the carry loop folds down over the button as a lock, so it cannot be knocked open inside a bag. Worth showing your child the loop once — that is the part people miss.
How do I clean it?
The lid is dishwasher safe and the spout and straw pull out of it. Owala recommends hand washing the bottle itself to protect the finish. The opening is wide enough to get a hand or a brush inside.
